Hot! Oh So Hot!

Didn't you feel the climate change lately? From extremely cold to fairly cold and then I think in the first week of February the climate became hot (but in tolerable degree of heat) and now to uber hot!

But wait, that's an indication that summer is coming! Yey! One month to go and I am again free of academics! Whew, can't wait for that! I think this is the reason why I, or we, should not detest the shifting that the climate has undergone. And in fact we should be grateful that we have an urge and we have all the reason now to take a bath (for those of you who don't.LOL), and to take a bath twice or thrice or even more in one day! I know there isn't much more refreshing than to indulge yourself in your ideal standard bathrooms jammed with all the bathroom accessories you vainly needed! Well, as for me, I just simply want to freshen up in kudos showers :)

First Time To Make A Music Video :)

It is always nice to do things that enable you to forget all the strains that knock you down both mentally and physically. Like in my case, I was tuckered out by my academics --almost everyday of sleepless night because of cramming reports, papers, problem sets, and whatnot! Yup! Cramming, it is. How am I able to do things way way before the deadline when almost everyday a new task is imposed on? I don't have a choice, do I? And for that, I think I have already mastered the art of cramming, if there is such.

Anyway, enough for all the grievances!

So, as I was saying, in spite of all the busyness, I am still able to do things that could somehow let my exhaustion pass out even just for a while (although it means another piece of work to toil in).

Let me share to you this music video that we made. Just pardon me for the editing since it was my first time to edit such video. And as for the audio, we had it recorded in my laptop only and I was not able to erase the hiss and noise completely. But I still do expect a little appreciation from you as much as I hope that you will be able to get the message of the song. :)

The lyrics was actually composed by my good friend, Agatha Tapan (who was also the director) and the music was by another good friend, Sylvia Bullo (who was the artist in the music video).

I Need Some Enlightenment

02-21-09. I think this was my longeeeest day this year so far. I've been busy all day and yet when I am counting the things that I still need to accomplish, there are still 1001 left. Oh noes! I think there is something wrong with me. Whatever it is, I'm not really sure. Could it be my time management? Or perhaps my time sequencing? The heck, I don't know!

I think I need some enlightenment. Where and when will I ever learn to prioritize things? And do I even know what these "things" are that I should be prioritizing? Do I? DO I?!

Ooops! I shan't be ranting now! What I need is to see things from another perspective. Yeah, I think that's the enlightenment I need. If only this is as easy as and as literal as choosing the right lighting, then the problem is over. And I would probably choose this sea gull lighting, and this fine art lamps. Anyway, I should be studying now, still have an exam tomorrow and haven't started to open my book and notes yet. Seriously. Oh well, for now, I would just settle and rely with the lighting of my room as I spend the whole night in front of my lecture notes.

My Wanporti Days Are Over!

Yay!

It

was

Over!

My ChE 140 days are finally over! High-strung days have now ended! wohoo!

Mara, I need your comment here. Serious comment. Constructive.

How was my report?

GC mode ON: What grade did you give me? :)

My Ideal Fair Booth

Generally speaking, my UP Fair experience this year was not that fun. For those of you who do not know what UP Fair is, it's a week long bazaar, carnival, exhibit, and concert (you name it! LOL) held during mid-February where a lot of bands - rock band, that is - are invited to perform every night. Busy as I was, I attended the Monday fair and semi-attended the Thursday fair. By semi-attended, I mean some of my close friends and I just stood by outside the fenced venue and felt the over-excited ecstatic crowd of the event. Well, I tell you, sitting on the grass of the sunken garden (the venue of the event inside the UP Campus) gave us some kind of an unusual relaxing feeling that made up our mind not to buy ticket and get inside. If you are from UP, I'm sure you know what I'm up to. :)

Actually, I was forced to attend the Monday fair because one of my organizations in UP assigned me to set up our booth inside the venue. Good thing was that I had a free pass. Mind you, I still had an unfinished laboratory paper which was due on the following day. But the heck, there I was, supervising the two booths we had, one was a bag/accessory/perfume booth and the other was a tattoo booth. Unfortunately, during that day, the crowd was not yet that eager to go to the fair maybe because it was the first day of the week-long event and I think the visiting bands were not people favorites (sorry for all the fans of the bands who went during the Monday fair, peace!) and so it only meant one thing - our booth was a flop that time.

If only our booths were like this exhibit booth, and the logo of our organization was customized like this logo floor mats, probably a lot more people might be enticed by our service and products. But no! I even carried myself the worn-out tables and chairs we rented from a not-so-nearby rental shop. How wretched that was! And how I also wish that our booth had these trade show displays and this kind of truss to lure (haha. sorry for the term) more and more people to give us more and more revenues to somehow abate my exhaustion that night. And at least I can say, it's worth not prioritizing my homework. Oh, well...

Just Another Ordinary Day in February

At least for me :)

But don't get me wrong, I am not bitter about what it is to celebrate this day!

ANYWAY.

Just try to take a look at this song by Josh Groban:

-------

FEBRUARY SONG

Where has that old friend gone

Lost in a February song

Tell him it won't be long

Til he opens his eyes, opens his eyes

Where is that simple day

Before colors broke into shades

And how did I ever fade

Into this life, into this life

And I never want to let you down

Forgive me if I slip away

When all that I've known is lost and found

I promise you I, I'll come back to you one day

Morning is waking up

And sometimes it's more than just enough

When all that you need to love

Is in front of your eyes

It's in front of your eyes

And I never want to let you down

Forgive me if I slip away

Sometimes it's hard to find the ground

Cause I keep on falling as I try to get away

From this crazy world

And I never want to let you down

Forgive me if I slip away

When all that I've known is lost and found

I promise you I, I'll come back to you one day

Where has that old friend gone

Lost in a February song

Tell him it won't be long

Til he opens his eyes

Opens his eyes

When I first heard of this song, I was actually confused by the lyrics. Why did Josh Groban use "he" and "him" in the song? So, out of curiosity, I searched in the web and found this:

Groban Strikes a Chord
Toronto Star
October 31, 2006

The fourth track on Awake - "February Song" - was born on a sleepless night. "I wrote it to myself, as I tried to find my own light in the tunnel, as I struggled at the crossroads."

and this:

Groban "Awakens" to International Sounds
Reuters/Billboard

November 4, 2006

He explains, "I was half asleep on the couch ... I was just out of a relationship, I had just finished the whole experience of 'Closer' and the tour, and there were a lot of decisions about my future that had to be made, all by myself. I got up, sat at the piano and wanted to write a melody that represented that journey and the loneliness of that feeling -- with the assurance that answers would come. It came to me in the flick of an eye."

I hope that explains it all :)

Further Clean Up

When I bought my laptop, its default antivirus was McAfee. Actually this antivirus software is pretty good, but the problem is, I only have a six month trial key. So after this period I have to resort to a different --or the same but of different license-- antivirus program. And whew! disappointed as I was, I rarely find McAfee in the top ten list of antivirus software whenever I click on the web for best antivirus programs. It is always Bit Defender, if not Kaspersky, that tops the list. Therefore, I have it installed in my computer. At first I was very impressed by the result of installing Bit Defender. It was like doing one big heck of general cleaning to my laptop. But little did I know that this program immediately erases, without prompting, suspicious programs or softwares. To cut it short, it erased a file extension in my computer's system. The heck! I have it uninstalled right away and of course resorting to Kaspersky goes without saying since it is also in the top list. And now, I am happily satisfied with it maintaining my laptop.

I thought that the inconvenience that my previous antivirus had brought about would be permanent unless I have my computer reformatted. The good news is, I found this particular site which cleans up and erases file extension DLL errors. And now my computer is working normally again. But wait, there's more, for those who are torrent downloads fanatic like me, the site also offers a file extension TORRENT repair. And another type of error that impedes your computer's function is the problem with binary files which can be a real binary file and not limited to game files, video back-up files, etc. So if you want to get rid of it, click this file extension BIN cleaner link.

So that's it. Is there anything else I can help you with? LOL!
